Hume Lake Summer CampHume Lake does a great job bringing in speakers who share amazing Truth with students and every year students come back changed. Along with great spiritual growth, students have amazing opportunities to connect with other students from Collide, as well as make connections with counselors that care about them. This year, we're going to Hume June 17-23.

Spiritual FormationEvery year Collide puts on a Spiritual Formation retreat for our students. During this weekend long retreat students are given opportunities to learn about how to grow in their faith and better understand God’s character and who they are in relation to Him.

TrainingOne of Collide's goals is to train up our students in the ways of Christ so they can grow in their relationship with Him. It is very important that our students know how to pray and study the Bible. We desire for our students to have a knowledge base for their faith as we prepare to send them into their next phase of life. Some of the areas of training are apologetics and evangelism.

But here I am! God has an amazing sense of humor. But I absolutely love working at EFCC. My prayer is that our students, parents, and staff KNOW the mighty power of the Gospel—that it would become alive to them & that they would live each day grateful and in abundant joy. Easier said then done, I know. But that is why I love coming to work, not only do I learn how to live each day for Christ, but I get to see God actively working in the lives of our students, our parents, and our staff! A-MAZ-ING!Why do you work here? I LOVE JESUS AND PEOPLE!Specialty: God has really crafted me to encourage & love people where they are at. I think that comes from my past experiences, a rough adolescence, and just the HUGE impression that Jesus has made on my life since I became a believer in 2007! Free time: Right now it is a lot of homework, but overall, I really like hanging out with my husband. We hike, cook together (I love cooking & trying new recipes), and work on our house. I love movies, hanging out with friends & my amazing family, shopping, and reading. I am trying to take up running, but it’s rough beginnings. I also thoroughly enjoy relaxed time with the DVR—watching Survivor, Project Runway, and Law & Order: SVU.I am a huge fan of… Jesus, Chipotle, Office Supplies, & Hugs (ha, I put four things)Kelyn Hohn - High School Seminary InternRoots: Lived all over Northern San Diego CountyCalling: To love High School students and help them through pain. Service ProjectsPart of our purpose at Collide is sharing God’s love. One of the ways we do this is through service projects, our way of loving on the community. Some examples of our service projects: running a kid’s program at Mision Vida Nueva’s food distribution center, making and serving dinner at Salvation Army’s Winter Shelter, collecting jackets and blankets for local Homeless, community beautification at Unify thru Service, helping out at Alternatives Women’s Center and Interfaith Community Services, and serving at EFCC events, such as the Harvest Party, Thanksgiving dinner for local homeless, Kickin’ It Up, and Kids’ Games. Check our calendar for upcoming opportunities to serve.

Mission TripsSenior Mission Trip During the summer before their Senior year, we offer students an amazing opportunity to serve God on a foreign mission field. These students get to travel overseas to see how God is working and to be part of that work. This year's Seniors will serve with our church partners in Albania. The CrewThe Crew is a group of students who have taken ownership of the High School Ministry. Members of The Crew do much more than the average student. In fact without The Crew, Sunday mornings in the Gym would not be possible. Crew members set up, tear down, greet, run PowerPoint and sound, cut pastries, take out trash, stack chairs, seek out ways to help, set a good example, and the list could go on...Crew members arrive an hour before events and services start and stay behind to clean up and tear down. If you are interested in being part of The Crew, contact Kelyn Hohn (contact info on the staff page).

Core GroupsCore Groups are High School Ministry small groups, which meet on Sunday mornings during the school year, 9:30-10:45am. Each student who comes to Collide Sunday is placed in a Core Group by grade and gender. Core Groups meet around tables to connect with each other, learn from God’s Word, and worship through music. A Core Group Leader (adult) is at each table to get to know individual students, facilitate discussion of Josh’s teaching, answer questions, pray with and for students, and provide spiritual leadership.
